Accessibility statement
Last updated:
We want everyone to be able to use the VacayMatch website and WhatsApp service, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or voice. This statement says what we did, what we know is still missing, and how to reach us.
Our standard
The website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. It was checked with a keyboard, with screen readers (VoiceOver and NVDA) and with automated tools, in light and dark mode, on phone and desktop.
What we did on the website
- Semantic HTML: landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), one heading per level, lists and tables for what they are, and a skip link to the content.
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus ring on every link and control.
- Contrast of at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for large text and controls, in both light and dark mode.
- Text sizes in relative units, so the browser's zoom and font settings apply, and a layout that works at 320 px wide and at 200% zoom.
- Motion is reduced when the system asks for reduced motion; nothing moves or plays by itself.
- Every image has alternative text; the logos announce the name only.
- No scripts are needed: the page works as plain HTML and CSS.
The WhatsApp service
VacayMatch answers inside WhatsApp, so it works with your phone's screen reader and display settings through WhatsApp's own accessibility features. You can send voice notes instead of typing; they are transcribed and answered in text. Messages are short, in plain English or Spanish, with prices as numbers and a clear next step.
Known limitations
- Images the assistant sends (price cards) also carry their numbers in the text of the message, so nothing depends on reading the image.
- Booking happens on third-party sites (airlines, hotels, booking sites) whose accessibility we do not control.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts; if they are blocked the page falls back to the system fonts without losing content.
Feedback
If something on the site or in the service does not work for you, tell us and we will fix it or offer the information another way: email hello@matchofesh.com, or write to VacayMatch on WhatsApp at +1 (276) 300-1021. We answer within a few business days.
